Security and data protection
Sentra keeps footage within the organization that owns it. Each person signs in through your identity provider and holds one role, and each view and export is written to an audit trail.

Sign in goes through OpenID Connect, so your password policy and second factor apply.
Sentra Cloud runs in Romania. Self hosted data stays on your server.
Every export carries a signature that can be verified outside the platform.
The engine works on appearance, counts and events.

Who can see what
Access is built from rights. Five built in roles cover the usual desks, from the auditor who may only read recorded footage to the administrator, and an organization defines its own roles from the same list of rights. A person holds one role and, where needed, a list of cameras, so a guard desk sees one building and a regional supervisor sees every site.
- People are invited by email and set their own password from a link that expires in three days
- Revealing masked faces, keeping footage and exporting evidence are each a right of their own
- A copied stream link fails outside a signed in session
Where the footage lives
The same software runs on a server you own or hosted by Sentra. The table states who holds what in each case.
| Self hosted | Sentra Cloud | |
|---|---|---|
| Video, detections and the audit trail | On your server, in your building or in your own data center | In an isolated tenant in the European Union, in Romania |
| Who operates the platform | Your team, with Sentra support when you ask for it | Sentra, for the tenant and the servers under it |
| Access by Sentra | None, unless you grant it for a support case | Operational access to run the tenant, under the contract |
| Retention | Set per camera by you | Set per camera by you |
| At the end of the contract | Data stays on your server | The tenant and its data are removed |
Evidence packages
An evidence export is a signed package: the footage, the cameras, the period and the reason, with a signature that verifies outside the platform, so a recording handed to the police or to an insurer can be shown to be unchanged. Footage kept beyond its retention is a right of its own, and the trail records who kept it and why.
- Every view of a recording, every change to a setting and every export is written to the audit trail
- The trail is kept for two years and can be filtered by person, device or action
- Refused attempts are recorded as well as the actions that went through

Detection, not identification
The engine detects and tracks people, vehicles and objects and turns them into counts, events and alerts. It does not identify people by their faces. Search compares the appearance of a person or vehicle across the cameras the user may see, and its index is kept for two days.
- Object classes and rules are switched on per camera
- Faces can be masked on screen, and revealing them is a separate right
- Counts, heatmaps and reports are aggregates with no personal data in them
See it on your own cameras
A demo can run on your cameras or on a Sentra demo site, self hosted or hosted by Sentra. Tell us which events and figures you need, and we prepare it.
