Cameras and devices
No. The analytics run on the server, so any camera that streams RTSP or RTSPS, or is ONVIF conformant, is added by its address and credentials. Analog cameras connect through a recorder or an encoder.
Yes. A recorder is added like a camera and its channels appear in the same grids, walls and search. Where the recorder has an integrated interface, footage on its own disks is played back from the Sentra timeline, so the recorder keeps its role as storage.
Any camera, recorder, sensor, barrier or access control system with a network interface. Standard protocols work out of the box and everything else is integrated as part of the project, with no license per device. The Compatibility page lists the brands by device type.
No. Plates are read by the Sentra engine on a camera with a view of the plate. Where a site already has a plate reader or a plate reading camera, its reads are taken into the same visit history and watch list.
Yes. A barrier, gate or turnstile opens from a plate read, a card or an operator click, through its relay input or its network controller. An existing access control system connects through its own interface, so a door opened there appears next to the camera that saw it.
Air quality, smoke and vape, noise and aggression, and occupancy from thermal counters. Any sensor with a network interface can be connected, and a new sensor family is added as part of the project.
Deployment
On a server you own, inside your building or your own data center, or hosted by Sentra in an isolated tenant in the European Union, in Romania. The software, the pages, the rules and the retention are the same in both cases. Deployment options compares them.
One GPU server per site, sized from the number of cameras and the modules enabled. Cameras, recorders and sensors stay on your network, and only what you export leaves it.
An engine installed at the site keeps working on its cached configuration and delivers its detections once the link returns. Each count carries a coverage figure, so a gap in the footage is shown as a gap.
Yes. Sites sit in one organization tree. Head office sets modules, retention and alert rules once at the top, and each site runs its own cameras and people.
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, with no plugin. On iOS and Android the console is installed as a web app with push notifications.
Romanian and English.
Data and security
Each person signs in through your identity provider and holds one role. Five built in roles range from an auditor who may only read recorded footage to the administrator, and a person can be limited to a list of cameras. The Security page describes the model.
Self hosted: on your server, at the site. Hosted by Sentra: in an isolated tenant in the European Union, in Romania, where you remain the controller of your footage and the data is removed at the end of the contract.
No. The engine detects and tracks people, vehicles and objects and turns them into counts, events and alerts. Search compares the appearance of a person or vehicle across cameras, within the cameras the user is allowed to see, and the index is kept for two days.
Retention is set per camera, from one to ninety days. Footage needed for a case is kept beyond its retention, and the audit trail is kept for two years.
Yes. An evidence export is a signed package that can be verified outside the platform, and each view, setting change and export is written to the audit trail.
The platform is tested against the OWASP Top 10 and reviewed before every release. Updates keep the existing configuration.
Alerts and search
Object classes switched on per camera, and rules drawn on the camera picture: alarm lines, loitering zones, person down areas, unattended objects, stopped vehicles, counting thresholds. Sensor thresholds raise alerts in the same inbox. Each alert carries a snapshot and a clip, in the console and in the mobile app.
A perspective filter drops detections too large for their place in the picture, such as shadows and reflections. Each person sets rules for which events, cameras, severities and hours reach them, and an incident raises one alert however long it lasts.
Yes. AI Search finds a person or a vehicle by text, by example from a recent detection, or by criteria such as a backpack or a color, with a similarity score on each result and a timeline from camera to camera.
Yes. A counting line drawn on the camera picture gives entries, exits and occupancy, with a coverage figure for each window. Arms drawn on a junction camera count turning movements by class, and bays drawn on a car park camera give free spaces per row. See Counting and Parking and Junctions.
Licensing and getting started
Capabilities are modules switched on per organization. There is no license per camera and no license per device. For the commercial terms of your site, contact us.
Yes. A demo runs on your cameras or on a Sentra demo site. Book a demo.
The product datasheet in English and Romanian and the Sentra explained guide are on the Resources page, as PDFs that open in the browser.
See it on your own cameras
A demo can run on your cameras or on a Sentra demo site, self hosted or hosted by Sentra. Tell us which events and figures you need, and we prepare it.
